Polyester Powder Coatings

Polyester-based products are developed to provide durability under outdoor conditions, protection, and high-quality surface features. These powder coatings undergo a curing process in an oven, offering excellent outdoor durability with high matte finish and scratch resistance. These products are highly resistant to UV rays and color fading, providing long-lasting and fast-curing solutions for outdoor structures. Polyester resins containing TGIC and primid hardeners are optimized to enhance durability in exterior conditions. The outdoor durability of polyester coatings is classified according to Qualicoat standards (Qualicoat Class 1 – Class 2 – Class 3). You can find the quality certifications of our products. You can place your orders by phone, and choose from RAL colors. 80% of RAL colors are always in stock, and all colors can be supplied upon request.

Polyester/TGIC Powder Coatings

This type of powder coating is made using polyester resin and TGIC hardener, making it ideal for outdoor applications. It provides excellent resistance to sunlight (UV resistance) and weather conditions. It is commonly used for outdoor products such as aluminum profiles, agricultural machinery, lighting fixtures, and bicycle rims.

Polyester/PRIMID Powder Coatings

Powder coatings made with polyester resin and primid hardener are developed as an alternative to TGIC-containing products. According to European Union regulations, TGIC-containing products require specific labeling, while primid products do not. They are mainly used in the coating of outdoor materials, especially in the aluminum profile industry.

Polyurethane Powder Coatings

These coatings are formed by the hardening of polyester resin with isocyanate, providing both UV resistance and chemical durability. Although not commonly preferred in standard outdoor applications due to price disadvantages, they are used as base coatings, especially in wood transfer finishes.

Application Areas of Polyester Powder Coatings

Polyester powder coatings are suitable for coating products intended for outdoor use. Their main application areas include agricultural machinery, automotive accessories, bicycles, building exterior cladding, garden furniture, and lighting fixtures. Polyester coatings are also recommended for interior accessories where color and gloss retention is necessary. They can be applied to all metal surfaces. You can find detailed information about the application areas of our paint series below.

Pre-Treatment

To ensure optimal performance, all surfaces should be cleaned of oil, moisture, and dust. The quality of the coating largely depends on the condition of the surface and the pre-treatment applied. The type of pre-treatment should be selected based on the intended use of the material.

Curing Conditions

In addition to standard curing conditions (10 minutes at 200°C at metal temperature), there are special formulations for fast curing.

Application Equipment

These coatings can be applied using Corona electrostatic powder spray guns or Tribo spray guns.

Storage Conditions

Powder coatings should be stored in a dry and cool environment. The maximum temperature should be 25°C, and the maximum humidity should not exceed 60%. The shelf life of the product is at least 12 months when stored between 5°C and 25°C.

Safety Information

Powder concentrations in the air between 20 gr/m3 and 70 gr/m3 can pose a fire risk or make the air conductive. Concentrations below 20 gr/m3 present a low fire risk, while concentrations above 70 gr/m3 present a high risk. Adequate ventilation systems designed by qualified personnel should be used to reduce air concentrations to safe levels. All equipment should be maintained regularly, and equipment that comes into contact with powder should be cleaned to prevent accumulation.
